Nellie A. Heath

Nellie A. Heath, age 97, of Lawrenceville passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.Born June 29, 1913 in White County, IL she was the daughter of D.C. and Lizzie Jane (Carroll) Finley. She married Gideon Doc Zacharia Heath June 10, 1928 and he died May 14, 1985.Nellie was a homemaker. She and her husband owned Pig and Whistle Ice Cream Shop and Docs Café. They also owned and operated a grocery store in Blackburn.Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Doc, one son Leon Heath, one daughter Dorothy Clinkingbeard, two brothers, and one sister.Survivors include one daughter-in-law Barbara Heath of Lawrenceville; two sisters Virginia Alford of Lawrenceville and Edna Over of Dunkirk, IN; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
