Nancy Ann Mcgaughey

Nancy Ann McGaughey, 80, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away April 6, 2010 at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, IL. Born March 14, 1930 in Robinson, IL she was the daughter of George and Effie Jane (Metheny) Everingham. She married John Henry Hank McGaughey August 23, 1952 and he died October 26, 1971.Ann was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, where she served as an Elder. She was a homemaker and a substitute teacher for Unit 20. Ann graduated from Stephen College in Columbia, MO with her AS degree. She earned her BS degree from the University of Illinois. Anns memberships include PEO and Garden Club. She was involved with the Campfire Girls, had performed volunteer work at the library, and was an avid sports fan. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Hank.Survivors include two sons Chuck (Cathy) McGaughey and Bob (Tracey) McGaughey all of Lexington, KY; one daughter Sarah (Jeff) Carter of Newton, IL and eight grandchildren Molly Evely, Becky Zawadzki, Caitlin McGaughey, Seth Carter, Ethan Carter, Jacob McGaughey, John McGaughey, and Justin McGaughey.Services will be 11:00 am Friday at Emmons-Macey and Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with burial to follow in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.Friends may call Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Township Library or to the Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, IL.
