Nancy L. Deisher, 75, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born November 16, 1940, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of John "PeeWee" and Martha (Reynolds) Tewell. She married Harold Deisher on September 21, 1957, and he survives.
Nancy was a bus driver for Unit #20 school district and retired after 30 years of service.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church. Part of her ministry included volunteering at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and United Methodist Village-North Campus, sending cards and baking for families. She enjoyed working Word Search puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their activities.
Preceding Nancy in death were her parents and two brothers, Harry Tewell and George Tewell.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, of Lawrenceville; five daughters, Shari (Joe) Calvert of Lawrenceville, Teresea (David) LaMarche of Lawrenceville, Christina (Danny) Satterthwaite of Allen, Texas, Cena Smith (David Adams) of Monroe City, Indiana, and Andrea Ruppel of Bridgeport; one brother, John Tewell of Illinois; one sister Diane (Bill) Hodges of Garyville, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available through the funeral home.
