Nancy Lee Daugherty, age 67, of Claremont, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 at The Haven of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Illinois. She was born March 2, 1959 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbert James Ochs and Minnie Carolyn Whalen Ochs. She married David Daugherty December 26, 1987, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1993.
Nancy dedicated more than 20 years of her career to caring for others as a CNA at United Methodist Village. Her compassion and commitment to those in her care were an important part of her life. Nancy was a member of the Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching television, playing games on her phone, and going out to eat. Above all, Nancy cherished time spent traveling with her family. She especially enjoyed purchasing gifts for her nieces and nephews and bringing joy to those she loved. Nancy will be remembered for her caring nature, her love of family, and the special place she held in the lives of those who knew her.
Preceding Nancy in death were her spouse, father, Wilbert Ochs, and brother, Gregory Paul Ochs.
Survivors include: mother, Minnie Carolyn Ochs; siblings, Michele (Dennis) Baker of Claremont, Jim (Tammy) Ochs of Claremont; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1006 Collins Avenue, Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary conducted at 7:00 p.m. at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to The Haven of Bridgeport Activities Department.
