Mildred M. Bunyan

Mildred M. Bunyan, age 83, of Lawrenceville, IL, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Lawrence Community Health Care Center in Bridgeport. She was born August 3, 1929, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Hubert and Daisy (Inyart) Hughes . She married Theodore M. Bunyan on March 15, 1949, and he died September 8, 2005. Mildred was a member of Faith Nazarene Church. She was a homemaker and worked at Lawrenceville Wal-Mart for 10 years. Preceding Mildred in death were her parents, her husband Theodore, and two brothers Merrill and Mervin Hughes. Survivors include one son, Jon Bunyan and wife Emily of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; four brothers Curtis (Frances) Hughes of Bridgeport, Illinois, Melvin Hughes of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Merle Hughes of Lampe, Missouri, Morris (Esther) Hughes of Cortland, Illinois; two sisters Mary Scott of Mesa, Arizona and Shirley Burgett of Sumner, Illinois, as well as 23 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 AM until the hour of service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
