Merle Wells

Merle R. Wells, Jr., 60, of Fort Branch, Indiana, passed away June 23, 2016 at his daughter's home in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born November 16, 1955, the son of Merle, Sr. and Betty Wells. He was married to Cathy Selby and she survives. Merle was an electrician, a construction project manager, and a Marine Corps veteran. He attended Bethel Memorial Church and was an avid golfer. Preceding Merle in death were his father, Merle, Sr.; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Mary Selby; his brother-in-law, Jim Selby, Jr.; and his step father-in-law, Eugene Robinson. Survivors include his wife, Cathy; his mother, Betty Wells of Lawrenceville, Illinois; his daughter, Laura Elkins and husband James of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers, Bruce Wells and wife Janet of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Richard Wells and wife Gina of Centerville, Ohio, and Danny Wells and wife Dawn of Yuba City, California; sister, Sharon Jones and husband Jerry of Vincennes, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Rachel McCullough of Tuscola, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and his pride and joy, grandson, Jamesy Elkins. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery. Memorial donations in honor of Merle may be made to the American Heart Association.
