Marybelle Crawford age 90 of Vincennes, Indiana a former Flat Rock, Illinois resident passed away Monday, September 07, 2015 at the United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born May 30, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Fulmer and Bernice June (Miller) Conover. She married Edward Dale Crawford October 26, 1943 and he survives. Marybelle worked for Suttle Apparatus for several years. She and her husband Dale, lived many years in the Birds, Illinois area where they worked on their family farm. After their retirement they enjoyed spending their winter years in Texas. They were members of the Birds Free Methodist Church in Birds, Illinois until they moved to Vincennes, Indiana where they transferred their membership to the Vincennes Free Methodist Church. They enjoyed playing board games and spending time with family and friends. Preceding Marybelle in death were her parents, two sisters Frances Carter, Dixie Baker, and one brother John Conover, son in law Ben Strate and a grandson John Strate. Survivors include: her husband of 71 years, Dale; three daughters, Linda (Dutton) Hood of Cecil, Ohio, Vicki Charest of New Albany, Miss., Marilyn Strate of Vincennes, IN., one son; Edward (Peggy) Crawford of Flat Rock, IL. 10 grandchildren; Jamie (Larry) Pillsbury, Chris (Tommy) Reed, Michele ( Brent) Nay, Brian (Nicole) DeCanter, Brent (Janel) DeCanter, Melissa (James) Samples, Jeff (Rebekah) Strate, Kristi (Kyle) Gray, Andrew (Johanna) Crawford, Ryan (Jessica) Crawford along with 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the May Chapel Cemetery east of Lawrenceville, IL. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Unit at the United Methodist Village or to the donor's choice.
