With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Maryann Wright, who passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at BridgePointe Health Campus in Vincennes, Indiana, at the age of 90. She was born February 12, 1935, in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence Lange and Stella Zoleke Lange. She married Robert E. Wright, and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Maryann served as Minister at the Russellville Community Church and dedicated her life to serving others. She lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and boundless love. Her faith guided everything she did and she was a steady source of strength, wisdom, and kindness within her church community. She never hesitated to help those in need, offering comfort, encouragement, and practical support to anyone who crossed her path. Her family would like to deeply thank her congregation for their love and support and for their many years of friendship to Maryann.
Her heart was especially tender toward animals. She adored her cats and lovingly cared for neighborhood cats as if they were her own, always ensuring they were fed and safe. Her home and garden were reflections of her nurturing spirit - full of life and warmth. She found great joy in gardening and spending time outdoors, where she felt closest to the peace she carried within her.
She was also an incredible artist and found happiness creating alongside her grandchildren. Those moments - filled with laughter and shared stories - will remain treasured memories.
Above all, Maryann cherished her family. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, Keith Wright and daughter-in-law, Ivy Wright. She is survived by her son Kevin and his wife Debby; her grandchildren Cait, Ian, Jessica, and Sarah; and her great-grandchildren Destiny and Bree. Her legacy of love, generosity, creativity, and faith lives on through each of them.
Though she is deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing that her beautiful spirit continues to bloom in the lives she touched, just like the gardens she so lovingly tended.
A Celebration of Life for Maryann will be conducted Saturday, April 25th at 12:00 p.m. at Russellville Community Church in Russellville, Illinois. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery in Russellville, Illinois.
