Mary Jane Shick

Mary Jane Shick age 91 of rural Sumner, Illinois passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born July 13, 1921 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Charles William Thomson and Ona Sager Thomson. She married WR Shick on June 01, 1949, and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1995. Mary Jane was a homemaker and a member of the Gilead Presbyterian Church. Mary Jane was an active member of the church where she served her Lord in many ways. A special quality that she possessed was thinking of others and putting others before her. She is survived by four nieces: Martha Albritton of Fla., Lucretia Prout of Tenn., Sharon Phillips of Il., and Beverly Pearson of In. One sister in law: Alice Thomson of IN. and one brother in law: Kermit Atkins of In. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two nephews: Charles William Thomson and Robert Bellinger. One brother: William Dale Thomson and two sisters: Anna Thomson and Verna Hudson. Graveside services will be Tuesday morning 11:30 a.m. at the Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois.
