Mary Jane Palmer, 88, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday November 12, 2009 at Lawrence Communiy Healthcare in Bridgeport, IL.Born August 4, 1921 in Knox County, IN the daughter of Craven and Pearl Maude (Vanmeter) Byrd. On December 25, 1940 she married Allen E. Palmer. He preceded her in death.She is survived by 2 sons: Craven Palmer of Bloomfield, IN, Elijah O. Palmer of Lebanon, TN, 5 sisters: Marjorie Huffman of Stevenson, AL, Shirley Anderson of Merritt Island, FL, Wanda Applegate of Bicknell, IN, Pearl Bernice Jones of Ottawa, IL, Betty McCullough of Vincennes, IN, 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God in Lawrenceville, IL and the VFW Auxiliary.The funeral will be Saturday at 12:00pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation is also Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm Saturday. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, IN.
