Mary Lou Nash, 73, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Tuesday evening, July 16, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born November 25, 1939, in Odin, Illinois to Floyd W. and Alice (Flanagan) Tabor, who preceded her in death in 1988 and 1998, respectively. She is survived by one son, Don (Kim) Nash of Vincennes, one sister, Linda (David) Paddick of London, Kentucky, two brothers: Dean (Sharon) Tabor of Fisher, Illinois, and Richard (Marilyn) Tabor of Champaign, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two lifelong companions, Shirley Burgett and David Green. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Clinton, Allison, and Olivia Nash and seven honorary grandchildren, Kris, Nathan, Danielle, C.J., Jessica, Andrew, and Grayce Burgett. Besides her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Don Nash, who died in 1978. Mary Lou was a homemaker and a member of Central Christian Church in Sumner. She was a fine Christian woman who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing cards, telling jokes, laughing, and having a good time. Mary Lou will be remembered for her singing, piano playing, and her famous chocolate chip cookies. She was called Grandma Lou by many of the local school children. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Hope Christian Church, Bridgeport, Illinois or the Bridgeport Grade School Library in Bridgeport.
