Mary Ann (Lockhart) Mickler

Mary Ann (Lockhart) Mickler, age 89, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at her residence. She was born on August 11, 1934 in Sand Ridge, Illinois, the daughter of John Cad and Lela (Lockman) Lockhart. She married Daniel Mickler on December 17, 1955, and he survives.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, and did course work at Lake Land College. Her working years were spent as a legal secretary and bookkeeper. She retired from the Marshall School Administration Office. Being athletic, she enjoyed many outdoor sports and activities. Having a natural singing voice, she loved to sing in church choirs and church special music. Mary’s number one vocation was to her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, six sisters, five nephews, and two nieces.

Survivors include her husband, Dan; three children, Renee Mickler of Carmel, Indiana, Jerry Mickler and wife, Rhonda of McCordsville, Indiana, and Suanne White and husband, Henry of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, June Elliott of Godfrey, Illinois; three grandchildren, Gerald Mickler and wife, Elise of Noblesville, Indiana, Bryan Mickler and wife, Taylor of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Alexa Bach and husband, Eric of Clarksville, Tennessee; and six great-grandchildren, Grace, Reagan, and Sloan Mickler, Camille and Mary Bach, and Charlotte Mickler.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 05, 2024 at 11:00 AM CDT at the May Chapel Cemetery, and may be viewed with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/emmonsmaceysteffey . There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe, or First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
