Mary Lou Large

Mary Lou Large, age 90, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at United Methodist Village-North Campus in Lawrenceville. She was born August 7, 1923 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois the daughter of Herman and Mildred (Arbuthnot) Weir. She married Wayne E. Large on July 1, 1946 and he died May 11, 1960. Mary Lou was a bookkeeper for Production Credit Association (now known as Farm Credit Services). She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. Mary Lou was an avid reader who enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time with her family. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, one brother Ronald Weir and one sister Zelma Childress. Survivors include one son Allen Large (Barbara) of Lawrenceville; two daughters Cathy Nolan of Dubuque, Iowa and Debra Kirk (Bruce) of Streator, Illinois; two sisters Pauline Cunningham of Belpre, Ohio and Joanne Moan of Lawrenceville; four grandchildren, Allen Large II (Johanna), Amy Large, Kelsey Nolan, and Taylor Kirk and one great-grandchild Oliver Large. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Wednesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Village-North Campus or the American Red Cross Blood Bank.
