Mary Helen Herron

Biography Mary Helen Zeigler Herron, age 80, of Evansville, Indiana (formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois), passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, in Evansville. She was born April 3, 1935, in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Brown) Zeigler. Mary Helen worked as a registered nurse for Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, United Methodist Village, and retired from St. Mary's Hospital.  After retirement, she continued to work doing home health care. Mary Helen was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Evansville, Indiana. Preceding Mary Helen in death were her parents; one son, Kenny Herron; and one sister, Margaret Ann Wissel. Survivors include three sons, Jay Herron of Evansville, Indiana, Steve Herron of San Diego, California, and David (Laura) Herron of Rockport, Indiana; three daughters, Joni (Gary) O'Grady of St. Petersburg, Florida, Laura (Dan) Childress of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Janie Herron of Evansville, Indiana; an adopted daughter, Pam Drake of Tell City, Indiana; one brother, John (Cindy) Zeigler of Jacksonville, Florida; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
