Mary Ellen Gosnell

Mary Ellen Gosnell, 79, of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born July 16, 1934 in Lawrence Co., IL the daughter of Harry William and Anna (McComb) Lahr. She married Robert "K" Gosnell on January 8, 1954 in Lawrenceville and he survives. Mary was a 1952 graduate of Lawrenceville High School. She had worked as a cook for the Unit #20 School District for 25 years. She was a member of the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren where she served as pianist and as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Along with her husband, she is survived by a son: Robert Michael Gosnell and his wife Tiffany of Lawrenceville, IL, two daughters: Debra Kaye Roth and her husband Patrick of Houston, TX, Mari Anna Gosnell of Bluffs, IL, a sister: Barbara Goodman of Vincennes, IN, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death. There are no formal funeral services. Per Mary Ellen's request, she is being cremated. Private family services were conducted. Memorial donations may be given to the Allison Prairie Church of the Brethren. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
