Mary Curts, age 99, of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at her residence. She was born April 25, 1915, in St. Francisville, IL, the daughter of Thomas A. and Louisa (Sumner) Diver. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank S. Curts on January 1, 1985. Mary worked for First National Bank in Bridgeport for 25+ years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bridgeport, IL, also a member of Delta Theta Tau. Throughout her life, Mary enjoyed traveling, cooking, flowers, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by family and many friends. Preceding Mary in death were her parents: her husband Frank; three brothers Joe, Tom and Patrick Diver: two sisters, Ruth Diver and Dorothy Whitmarsh, daughter-in-law Carole Curts, and one grandson, Brandon Smith. Survivors include: a son, Mike Curts, of Bridgeport, IL; a daughter, Jane Smith, of Lawrenceville, IL; four sisters, Virginia Mullin of Indianapolis, IN, Louise "Dodle" Diver of Lawrenceville, IL, Gerry Cannon of Lawrenceville, IL and Joan Childress of Lawrenceville, IL; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Diver of St. Francisville, IL and Jessye (Curts) Dekau of Cocoa Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Joe (Lisa) Curts of Sumner, IL, Terry Curts of Bridgeport, IL, Tina (Chuck) Dunkin of Warner Robins, GA, Lance Smith of O'Fallon, MO, Michele (Marc) Fleck of Vincennes, IN, and seven great-grandchildren, Sydney Curts, Tylor Dunkin, Brittney (Tyler) Sharpe, Monica, Montgomery, Mabry and Madison Fleck; two great-great grandchildren, Bently Sharpe and Cameron Dunkin. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 19, 2014, at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bridgeport Senior Citizens Center in Bridgeport or the Brandon Smith Memorial Scholarship at People's State Bank. Envelopes will also be available through the funeral home.
