Mary Lou Catterton, age 94, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, in Murray, KY. She was born April 9, 1921, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Homer and Gladys (Brown) Miskill. She married James William Catterton on April 13, 1940, and he died August 13, 1994. Mary Lou worked at J.C. Penney for 30+ years. She attended First United Methodist Church and was a Gray Lady Volunteer at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Preceding Mary Lou in death were her parents; her husband, James; one brother and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Charles M. "Chuck" Catterton and wife Suzanne of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a daughter, L. Diane Wagner and husband Tom of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters Barbara Ann Jerrell of Lawrenceville and Jean Hunt of Mt. Carmel; four grandchildren, Thomas James Wagner (Mindy) of Murray, Kentucky, Tamara Kaye Nelson (Kelly) Auburn, Alabama, Jamie Lynn Catterton of Birmingham, Alabama, and C. Jill Fink (Michael) of Birmingham, Alabama and six great-grandchildren, Conner James Wagner of Murray, Kentucky, Brendan Davis Nelson of Auburn, Alabama, Lauren Sims Wagner of Murray, Kentucky, Lindsey Ann Wagner of Murray, Kentucky, Brett Thomas Nelson of Auburn, Alabama and Robert Michael Fink of Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Endowment and Development or Lawrence Township Library with envelopes available through the funeral home.
