Marjorie Lou White

Biography Marjorie Lou White, age 82, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born October 20, 1932, in Sumner, Illinois, the daughter of Dale and Helen (Madden) Gubelman. She married John H. White on October 24, 1954, in Sumner, Illinois. He survives. Marjorie was a homemaker while her children were young. She then worked at United Methodist Village and later worked as the Director of Nursing at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital for 20+ years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Lawrenceville. Preceding Marjorie in death were her parents and a brother. Survivors include her husband, John H. White of Lawrenceville; a son, John M. White of Lawrenceville; a daughter Julie L. Phillips of Lawrenceville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7pm at Emmons, Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. At request of the family private burial services will be conducted at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available through the funeral home.
