Marjorie Jean Myers, age 89, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born on February 21, 1933 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Robroy H. and Opal (Porter) Tracy. She married Don R. Myers on December 27, 1951, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2019.

Marjorie was a 1951 graduate of Lawrenceville Township High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. She was a school teacher with Unit #20 for 30 plus years. She was active in her church and the youth program with Don in their younger years. She sang in the choir, played the piano and organ, and was a wonderful cook. She had unconditional love for her family, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Bob Tracy.

Survivors include two children, Michael R. Myers and wife, Ruthann and Deborah Jean Solano all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Dave Tracy and wife, Sherry of Flat Rock, Illinois; two sisters, Mildred Ulrich of Newburgh, Indiana and Marian Winters and husband, Dave of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Heather Marie Tramel and husband, Matt of Madison, Wisconsin, Brandon M. Myers of Madison, Wisconsin, Shana Harrell and husband, Chris of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Adam Williams and wife, Mindy of West Plains, Missouri, Megan Williams of West Plains, Missouri, Jennifer Pargin and husband, Troy of Aurora, Colorado, and Jason Morey and wife, Barbie of Lawrenceville, Illinois; seven great-grandchildren, Dominic and Eve Williams, Liam and Reid Morey, Syndey Pargin, and Grady and Remini Williams; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Senior Citizens or the Lawrence County Humane Society.
