Marion Curtis Hughes

Marion Curtis Hughes, 93, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born March 1, 1923 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Hubert and Daisy (Inyart) Hughes. He married Frances Biggs and she survives. Curtis was a laborer with the #841 Union of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a member of the Moose and the Masons. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Merrill Hughes and Mervin Hughes; and sister, Mildred Bunyan. Survivors include wife, Frances of Christopher, Illinois; brothers, Melvin Hughes of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Merle Hughes of Clinton, Arkansas, Morris (Esther) Hughes of Cortland, Illinois, sisters, Shirley Burgett of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Mary Scott of Mesa, Arizona; special family members, Gary Vincent, David Vincent, Steve Vincent, Patty Dinse, and Mary Ann Mast; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Curtis' memory may be made to the donor's choice.
