Marion C. Hixon

Marion C. Hixon August 14, 1926 - December 4, 2011 Marion C. Hixon, age 85, of rural Sumner, IL passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. He was born August 14, 1926 in Olney, IL the son of Charles and Cora (Atkins) Hixon. He married Inez Marie Rogers November 2, 1950 and she passed away January 25, 2010. Marion was a farmer. He attended Sumner Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers. Survivors include two sons Kenneth and Russell, both of Sumner; one daughter Joyce Mathews (Randel) of Springfield, IL; three brothers Joe Hixon of Lima, OH and Roy Hixon and Ray Hixon both of Claremont; one sister Leona Lucas of Mattoon, IL; grandchildren Garret Mathews of Lake Wylie, SC, Carrie Tucker and Erin Abel both of Springfield, IL, Jenni Miller and Brandon Hixon both of Sumner, and Heather Murphree of Princeton, IN; great-granchildren Lucy Tucker and Clair Abel of Springfield, Connor Mathews of Lake Wylie, SC, Dillon Gray of Princeton, IN and Anna Marie Miller and Bowen Leo Hixon both of Sumner. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Private graveside services will be held at a later time. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
