Marie Elizabeth Butler

Marie Elizabeth Butler, age 98, of Lawrenceville passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville. Born September 8, 1912 in Lawrence County, IL, she was the daughter of Franklin and Emma (Kendall) Morris.She married Robert Butler and he preceded her in death.Marie worked as an inspector for Lane Bryant Clothing.Marie was a member of Bethel AME Church in Indianapolis, IN where she served as a Steward.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, two brothers and seven sisters.Survivors include two sisters Frances Russell and Margaret Harris both of Lawrenceville, as well as several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.Burial will follow in Portee Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Portee Cemetery with envelopes available through the funeral home.
