Margaret G. Lukens

Margaret G. Lukens, age 83, of Lawrenceville (formerly of Bridgeport), passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the United Methodist Village-North Campus. She was born March 18, 1931, the daughter of Dale Blacketer and Cecil (Pierson) Wolfe. She married Richard M. Lukens on August 25, 1950 and he died August 27, 1995. Margaret was a school bus driver for Red Hill Unit #10 School District for 19 years. She was an avid sports fan. Margaret attended the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee, Rummy, Solitaire, and making various crafts. Margaret was a member of the Bridgeport Free Methodist Church. Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, her husband Richard, one deceased brother Robert Blacketer, three sisters Leona Edmondson, Virginia Pavitt, and Kay Wolfe, one grandson Albert Brinkman, and two great-grandsons. Survivors include five daughters: Susan Brinkman of Bridgeport, Deborah (Richard) Rhinehart of rural Bridgeport, Beverly (Allen) Tresise of Lawrenceville, Lois (Tom) Earnst of Bridgeport, and Theresa (Dwayne) Greene of Lawrenceville; one brother Jep Blacketer of Lawrenceville; three sisters Ann Holmes of Lawrenceville, Sarah Sweitzer of Merrillville, IN, and Kris Allen of Chesterton, IN; 12 grandchildren Jason (Terri) Lukens, Aaron (Amanda) Lukens, Allen Brinkman, Brandon (Jacee) Rhinehart, Meghan (Rick) Smith, Derek (Laura) Hughes, Quaid (Dani) Tresise, Tara (Jason) Earnst, Sara (David) Pinkstaff, Nathaniel Greene, Lucas Greene, Heather Greene, and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 4 PM Saturday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bridgeport Senior Citizens, Bridgeport Free Methodist Church, or the United Methodist Village-North Campus Activity Fund.
