Margaret 'Jane' Jones

Margaret ‘Jane' Jones, 78, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born October 2, 1938 in Raven Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of John Dana and Jesse Florence Higgins. She married Gail E. Jones in October 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Jane was a housewife. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville and was a 50 year member of Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her son, Gary D. Jones; three brothers, Bill Jones, Raymond Jones, and John Jones; and one sister, Juanita Turner. Survivors include her two sons, Steven Jones and his wife, Sandy, of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Jeff Jones and his wife, Kathy, of Decker, Indiana; one daughter, Pat Holscher of Lawrenceville, Illinois; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jane's memory may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
