Mack J. Hensley

Mack J. Hensley, 64, of Loves Park, departed this life Wednesday, June 9, 2010, surrounded by his family, after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born May 18, 1946, in Vincennes, Ind., the son of Dale and Bernice (Carr) Hensley. Married Alberta Cochran on July 15, 1967, in Lawrenceville. Together they came to Rockford to work and raise their family. Macks life was filled with love from his wife, children and his grandchildren. His loves in life other than his family were bowling, fishing and hunting. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a man of his word. A promise made was always a promise kept. He was a man who believed in God and a man who always did what was right. Mack worked at Chrysler for 13 years and he worked at and retired from Amerock after 24 years. Until recently, he was also employed by Rockford Toolcraft. Survivors include his wife, Alberta; daughter, Tonya (Doug) Addams of Roscoe; son, Recil (Mary Beth) Hensley of Roscoe; grandchildren, Andrew Meier, Dustin Meier, Trevor Addams, Recil John and Riley Doodlebug: Hensley; mother-in-law, Roxie Cochran of Lawrenceville; brother, Dale (Van) Hensley of Maryland; sisters, Glenda (Bob) Persinger of Parkersburg, Terry (Wayne) Johnson of Tennessee, Pauline (Gene) Nees of Florida and Anna Mae Gipson of Evansville, Ind.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant son and daughter; parents; and father-in-law, Ellis Cochran. Dad ... May you catch the big one that is waiting on the other shore!
