Lyda Marlene Walker, age 75, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at her residence. She was born January 13, 1951 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Leland Leon Bellinger and Patty Schultz Bellinger. She married Gerald “Jerry” Walker January 19, 1974, and he preceded her January 14, 2001.

Marlene was employed at Walmart for 30 years, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She attended the Wesleyan Church on 4th Street in Lawrenceville. Marlene possessed a generous heart and found great joy in caring for those around her. She loved cooking and baking for her family, friends, and the neighborhood children, and her home was always open to those in need of a visit or a place to gather. Above all, Marlene treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. They knew Grandma's house was a place filled with unconditional love, laughter, and very few rules, creating cherished memories they will forever hold close to their hearts.

Preceding Marlene in death were her parents; her spouse; sibling, Robin Gail Williams.

Survivors include: children, Tyrone Walker and companion Dawn Godfrey of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tamara Shoulders of Lawrenceville, Jerry (Christina) Walker of Lawrenceville; siblings, Pamela Dorney of Springfield, Missouri, Brenda Campbell of Lawrenceville, Patty (Pete) Thompson of Missouri; grandchildren, Adalyn Walker, Justin Shoulders, Joey (Nicholette) Shoulders, Jordan Feutz and Jared (Kyanne) Walker; great-grandchildren, Brookelynn Shoulders, Alexis Shoulders, Violette Shoulders, Kole Shoulders, Atlas Shoulders, Maddyx Feutz, SkyLynn Walker.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. till the service hour of 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
