Lucille Rife

Lucille Rife, age 95, died January 25, 2016 at Ecumen Pathstone Care Center in Mankato, Minnesota. Lucille was born March 6, 1920, to Edgar E. and Catherine (McCarty) Gosnell in Lawrence County Illinois.  She graduated from Lawrenceville High School.  She was united in marriage to James F.  Rife on April 19, 1941.  Lucille was a member of the Community Christian Church in Mankato MN and had been a long-time member of Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Lawrence County.  While Lucille was a housewife, she also actively helped her husband in his auction business.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening and being active in the church.  Lucille greatly valued her friendships at Primrose Retirement Community and we know she will be greatly missed by many there. Lucille is survived and fondly remembered by her son Jim Rife and his wife Terry of Mankato, MN; her grandsons Kenneth (Casey) of Waconia, MN and Christopher of Mankato, MN; great-granddaughters Emma and Madelyn Rife of Waconia, MN; sisters Ruth (Don) Lathrop of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Jean (George) Mullins of Colorado; and sister-in-law Doris (Edgar) Gosnell of Lawrenceville as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Frank Malcolm and Edgar Gosnell; and her sisters Anna Jane Roberts and Lois Curts. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 AM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pollard Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Christian Church with envelopes available through the funeral home.
