Louise McClaskey, age 84, of Lawrenceville, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville. She was born October 8, 1930, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Heath) Winters. She married Willard "Red" McClaskey on December 17, 1948, and he died February 17, 2002. Louise was a homemaker. She was a member of Billett United Methodist Church and was very actively involved in the church. Louise volunteered for the Red Cross and served as a Gray Lady for many years at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. Preceding Louise in death were her parents; her husband "Red"; four brothers Donald Winters, Delbert Winters, Lester Winters, and Marvin Winters; and two sisters Vivian Smith and Lois Chandler. Survivors include two sons Jim McClaskey and Jesse McClaskey, both of Lawrenceville; one brother Howard Winters of Springfield, IL; four sisters Pauline (Dewey) Eagleson of Lawrenceville, Doris Saltsgaver of Allendale, Della Ditch of Noble, and Jane Mason of Florida; one grandson Shawn McClaskey and one great-grandchild Cindel McClaskey. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Billett Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Billett United Methodist Church or the American Red Cross with envelopes available through the funeral home.
