Lottie E. Vowels, 94, of Sumner, IL passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Lawrence Community Healthcare Center in Bridgeport, IL.She was born April 2, 1915 in Maroa, IL the daughter of William and Addie L. (Trimmer) Treece. On July 31, 1932 she married James D. Vowels, who preceded her in death July 11, 1987.Lottie was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Sumner, IL. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Society, Sumner Community Club and she was an avid quilter.Survivors include two sons Lyle and Rita Vowels of Traverse City, MI, James and Brenda Vowels of Kalkaska, MI; two daughters Nona and David Noble of Sumner, IL and Iris West of Mountain Home, ID; one daughter-in-law Betty Vowels of Kalkaska, MI; 11 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Kenneth, two sons-in-law, four brothers, one sister, one granddaughter, one great-grandson and one great-great-granddaughter.The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 am at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, IL. Burial will follow in the Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney, IL. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
