Lorena ‘Deonn’ Carie, age 78, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, formerly of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on August 25, 1943 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Paul Elmo and Anna Louise (Shaw) Neff. She married Ronald Earl Wilson and then Michael Carie, both of which preceded her in death.
Deonn was a registered nurse for the nursing homes in Vincennes, Sumner, and Bridgeport, as well as the hospitals in Olney and Leesburg, Florida. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being a grandma.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands; one brother, Paul Neff; and one daughter-in-law, Valerie Wilson.
Survivors include four children, Tony Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Rusty Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Paul Wilson and wife, Michelle of Texas, and Jeff Wilson of Lawrenceville, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
