Lois A. Maxwell

Lois A. Maxwell, 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at United Methodist Village-Main Campus. She was born August 7, 1930, in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of Van D. and Maxine Marie (VanElls) Peerman. She married Kenneth M. Maxwell on October 15, 1949, and he died November 30, 2013. Lois worked for the Illinois Department of Public Aid for 25 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. Preceding Lois in death were her parents; her husband Kenneth; and one sister Donna Peno. Survivors include one son Kenneth Van Maxwell (Kathy) of Alexandria, Kentucky; two daughters Rita Johnson (Terry) of rural Lawrenceville and Theresa Nave (Michael) of Arcola, Illinois; two sisters Carol Peerman and Jane Burrell (John) both of Lafayette, Indiana; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service hour at 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
