Lois Litherland

Lois Litherland, age 87, of Bridgeport, IL passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus in Lawrenceville. She was born April 28, 1924 in Bridgeport, the daughter of Jesse K. and Agnes (Jennings) Gillespie. She married Thomas Benton Litherland, December 20, 1944 and he passed away in 1983. Lois worked as a secretary-receptionist for Three Star Drilling and Moore Brothers until retirement. She was affiliated with Bridgeport First United Methodist Church. She was an avid bridge player, loved to read and always enjoyed fresh flowers. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Thomas Alan Litherland, two brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include one daughter Karla (Tod) Hewuse of Spencer, WI, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday at Bridgeport City Cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Public Library.
