Linda Kay Phillips, age 76, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born August 21, 1942 in Olney, Illinois, the daughter of Jack K. Brian and Mabel Saye Brian. She married Ralph L. Phillips on January 31, 1959 and he preceded her in death August 18, 1999.
Linda worked for Suttle Apparatus. She finished her working career as a Pumper for the Marathon Oil Company located in Bridgeport, Illinois. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes for many family members over the years. She was a member of the Central Christian Church of Sumner, Illinois. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion in St. Francisville, Illinois, where she served as president. She loved her dogs Sophie and Kylee. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Linda in death were her parents; husband: Ralph; and one sister: Sandra Cooper.
Survivors include her two sons: Ralph Phillips, Jr. and wife Shirley of Sumner, Illinois and Rick Phillips and wife Colleen of rural Bridgeport, Illinois; four brothers: Dave Brian and wife Betty, Bill Brian and wife Margaret, Jess Brian and wife Joan all of Sumner, Illinois, and Ed Brian and wife Deanna of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois; four grand-children: Amy Shindler and husband Brandon, Lindsey Fry and husband Kevin, Lance Phillips and wife Carmen, and Ralph Phillips III and wife Jessie; and four great-grandchildren: Gauge Phillips, Tucker Phillips, Ava Shindler, and Blake Fry. She was also a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 noon until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
