Biography
Lillian Rae Murphy, age 89, of Lawrenceville passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at United Methodist Village North Campus. She was born May 24, 1922 in Florence, KS the daughter of Kier and Sarah (Howe) Critchfield. She married Michael E. Murphy on December 21, 1946 and he survives.
Lillian was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Lawrence County for many years.
Survivors include her husband Michael of Lawrenceville; two sons David (Sara) Murphy of Oaktown, IN and Mark (Cindy) Murphy of Houston, TX; one daughter Barbara Hahn of Evansville, IN; one sister Reba Spidel of Dyer, IN; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Lillian was preceded in death by one daughter Rita Westall, three brothers, four sisters, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
