Lillian V. Greenlee

Lillian V. Greenlee, age 100, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Bridgepointe Health Campus in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on March 03, 1923 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Hollie Homer and Lena Caroline (Gebert) Shook. She married Donald C. Greenlee on May 11, 1940, and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2008.

Lillian was a homemaker, seamstress, Avon Lady, and owned and operated Greenlee’s Grocery for five plus years. She was a member of the Lawrence County Country Club, past president of the PTA, and championship golfer. In later years, she conducted Bible study in her home. Lillian was a Child of God.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; six brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandson.

Survivors include three children, Donald C. (Connie) Greenlee of Winter Haven, Florida, Paula Jo (Donald) Hansen of Leicester, Massachusetts, and Judith Gale (Matt) Phillips of Vincennes, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
