Lewis D Bathe

Lewis D. Bathe, age 81, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday, April 02, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 22, 1930 in Lawrence County, IL, the son of Francis and Pauline (Fitch) Bathe. Lewis was a member of the Lawrenceville Church of Christ. He worked at Hamilton Glass for 40 years until retirement. Lewis was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, one son Francis, one daughter Tami Bathe, and one brother. Survivors include three sons Robert of Lawrenceville, James and wife Brenda of Tampa, FL and Charles and wife Mary Ann of Lenox, MI; two daughters Susan Reyes and husband Ralph and Diana Bathe all of Tampa, FL, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home, 1303-12th Street, Lawrenceville, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Lewis will be laid to rest next to his brother, Charles Ray Bathe, at May Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by the American Legion and VFW.
