Leroy W. Linton

Leroy W. Linton, age 88, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his residence. He was born November 2, 1924, in Hepler, Kansas, the son of Irvin and Edith (Creagar) Linton Lampkey. Leroy retired after working several years for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He was an Army Veteran, having served in Europe during World War II. Preceding Leroy in death were his parents, one brother Don Linton, and one sister Eunice Buebhly. Survivors include two sons Terry (Teresa) Linton of Lawrenceville and David (Diana) Linton of Ft. Myers, Florida; a special friend Lois Bathe of Bridgeport; three sisters, Doris Gooding of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Faye Pahl of Nebraska and Mildred Johnson of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren Shannon (Hite) Baldwin of Keller, Texas, Amber (Matthew) Brown of Robinson, Illinois, Michael (Amy) Linton of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Tiffany Moore of Evansville, Indiana, seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Friday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Graveside services will be at 11 AM Friday at Pollard Cemetery in rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, with military honors.
