Leroy E. Drummond

Biography Leroy E. Drummond, age 72, of Sumner, IL passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born August 23, 1938 in Bridgeport, IL the son of Ray and Leona (Doss) Drummond. He married Elizabeth "Libby" Stevenson and she survives. Leroy worked at Suttle Apparatus for 29 years as a shipping clerk. He then worked at Road Master for 13 years. Leroy's favorite and most enjoyable job was working with Gregg Parrott Auction Service for 20+ years. Leroy was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was an Army Veteran and a member of Sumner Free Methodist Church. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one great-grandchild. Survivors include his wife "Libby" Drummond of Sumner, one son Rick Drummond and his companion Gail Vaughn of Sumner, two daughters Debbie (Dan) Hill of Bridgeport and Brenda (Jeff) Bice of Lawrenceville; one brother James Ralph (Karen) Drummond of Bridgeport, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery.
