Leona A. Brown

Leona A. Brown, age 94, of Vincennes (formerly of Lawrence County) went to meet her Lord and Savior, Monday, October 3, 2011. She was born August 12, 1917 in Moorehouse, MO the daughter of Samuel and Dovie Cornwell. She married Paul Brown, December 16, 1932 and he preceded her in death November 15, 1996. Leona worked in dietary at the United Methodist Village. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Lawrenceville and the Ladies Home Extension. Leona was an avid quilter and loved to crochet. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, three sons, two brothers, three sisters; three grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Survivors include three sons Neil Brown (Marilyn) of Patoka, IN, Terry "Mike" Brown (Valerie) of Vincennes, IN, Max Brown (Helen) of Decker, IN; two daughters Janice Campbell of Vincennes, IN and Linda Parr (Luke) of Greenup, IL; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service hour at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
