Lela M. Duckworth, 82, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Monday February 27, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
She was born November 9, 1929 in Lawrenceville, IL the daughter of Leo Alonzo and Mary Anna (Plough) McClaskey. She was first married to Robert Seed. He preceded her in death. She then married Donald L. Duckworth. He survives.
Lela worked as a meat wrapper at McKim IGA. She also worked in the Deli at Neeley's Key Market in Lawrenceville. She was a member of the 6th Street Wesleyan Church in Lawrenceville.
Surviving are four sons: Robert E. Seed of Columbus, OH, Michael Seed and his wife Zoe of Bourbonnais, IL, George W. Seed and his wife Kristi of Lawrenceville, GA, John L. Seed and his wife Amy of Lawrenceville, IL, two step-sons: Terry J. Duckworth of Wichita, KS Gary W. Duckworth and wife Susan of Madison, IN, a brother: David L. McClaskey of Dayton, OH and a sister: LaDonna Cunningham of Tulsa, OK,one sister-in-law Doris Selby, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Robert Stephen and three sisters.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the 6th Street Wesleyan Church.
