Laurie Jerrel 'Jerry' Rigg

Laurie Jerrell ‘Jerry’ Rigg, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. He was born on June 19, 1936 in Birds, Illinois, the son of Herman Harrison and Leona (Stevenson) Rigg. He married Joyce Belcher on May 31, 1958, and she survives.

Jerry worked for Texaco Refinery, at various refineries for Clark, and then for the Amazon Distribution Center. He along with his wife, Joyce and their son, Jeff enjoyed traveling and camping at different campgrounds. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Birds, and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Herbert Rigg, Deloe Rigg, and Frederick Rigg; and two sisters, Helen Crouch and Thelma Cummins.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two children, Jeff Rigg and Jerri Parker both of Lawrenceville, Illinois and one grandchild, Shan Parker.

No services will be conducted. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
