Larry W. Beard

Larry W. Beard, age 70, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 27, 1940 in Robinson, IL the son of Virgil and Lucille (Rich) Beard. He married Debrah Lane March 25, 1983 and she died August 8, 2001.Larry was a member of the First Christian Church. He worked as a truck driver for Chance Brothers for 11 years. Larry was an Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Lawrenceville.Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Debrah and one brother Virgil Beard.Survivors include two sons Larry Wayne Beard, Jr. of Fishers, IN and John Michael Goings of Indiana; four daughters Gleta Annette McDonald of Tilton, IL, Lisa Ann Songer of Tilton, IL, Jackie Sue Ayoub of Jacksonville, FL, and Judy Donnelly of Danville, IL; two brothers Jack Beard of Robinson, IL and James Beard of Lowell, IN; one step-brother James Grieves of Robinson, IL; one step-sister Marylin Bateman of Indiana; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. There is no visitation.
