Kevin Brent Borden

Kevin Brent Borden, age 63, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Kevin was born in Lawrence County, Illinois to Maurice Stanley and Loretta Marie (Parker) Borden on April 15, 1958. He married Janet Sue Phillips on September 27, 1980 in Lawrenceville, Illinois.

He was a graduate of Vincennes University. He worked as an electronics technician for ZF TRW in Marshall, Illinois for 14 years. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He received licensing from the Amateur Radio Relay League as a test examiner, a FCC amateur radio license, and a FCC General Radio Telephone License. He also received an award from the Illinois State Historical Society on April 23, 2016 for his work on the Centerville Cemetery preservation Project. Kevin’s hobbies included working on his ham radios, historical research, and spending time with his family.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Borden of Lawrenceville, Illinois; children, Amanda Faith Borden of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Kevin Brent Borden II and his wife, Penny of St. Francisville, Illinois; and three grandchildren, Syllas Perry Fouts, Matthew Brent Borden and Emily Ryanne Borden.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 02, 2021 at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation is also Tuesday from 9:00am until the service hour of 10:00am. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
