Kenneth F. Roney

Kenneth F. Roney, age 75, of rural Sumner, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born November 6, 1938 in Richland County, Illinois, the son of Frank and Alta (Dunlap) Roney. He married Mary Conover on December 20, 1963, and she survives. Kenny was a self-employed carpenter. He also worked as a controller on the CAT unit at Texaco Refinery for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Preceding Kenny in death were his parents, one brother: Donald Roney and one sister: Maxene Ridgley and one nephew: Jerry Roney. Survivors include his wife Mary of rural Sumner; two sons: Chad (Ashley) Roney of rural Sumner and Jeff (Penny) Roney of Stanford, Kentucky; one sister: Linda Stoltz of Atwood, Illinois; two grandchildren: Maci Roney and Clayton Roney and one step-granddaughter: Ashley Keith. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Waggoner West Cemetery in Chauncey, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence County Wig Bank with envelopes available through the funeral home.
