Kenneth L. Provines, 79, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at the United Methodist Village-Main Campus in Lawrenceville, Illinois. He was born on January 30, 1938 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Marshall and Lilybell (Hasler) Provines. He married Lois Ann Mieure on September 21, 1957 and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2008.
Kenneth was a retired United Methodist Minister; serving at various churches, including Browns and Bone Gap. He was a member of the National Guard. His hobbies included golf and restoring vehicles.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Lois; and one brother, Finley Provines.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Alan Provines and wife, Cathy, of Perry, Michigan and Terry Ray Provines of Birmingham, Alabama; one daughter, Cathy Ann Provines and partner, Melissa Pemberton, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; two grandchildren, Danielle Ricotta and Jason Provines; and one great-grandchild, Ethan Ricotta.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM CST at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.
