Kenneth Eugene Pinkstaff

April 7, 1941 — June 21, 2012

Kenneth Eugene "Gene" Pinkstaff, I of rural Lawrenceville, IL passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville. He was born April 7, 1941 in Pinkstaff, IL, the son of William Owen "Boy" Pinkstaff, II and Edna (Timms) Pinkstaff. "Gene" was proud to serve with the United States Army and retired after 31 years of service to his country, having received two bronze stars. After his retirement from the military, he enjoyed farming and construction work. He was a member of the VFW & American Legion of Flat Rock, as well as the Masons. "Gene" was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Martha Davis and Reva Mickler, as well as one granddaughter Alisha Kay Pinkstaff. Survivors include his children Kenneth E. Pinkstaff II (Jennifer), Brian Keith Pinkstaff, Guy Lee Godfrey Pinkstaff, and Stacee Pinkstaff all of Vincennes, IN, one brother William O. "Bill" Pinkstaff (Norma) of Lawrenceville; one sister Marilyn Baker of Mt. Carmel; nine grandchildren Ashley Nadine Barmes, Morgan Raye Pinkstaff, Meagan Marie Pinkstaff, Kenneth Eugene Pinkstaff, III, Paige Nicole Pinkstaff, Janet Faye Godfrey Pinkstaff, Kendall Lee Pinkstaff, Seth Reed Chanley, and Marlee Ann Pinkstaff; as well as three great-grandchildren Jaxson, Knox, and Lincoln. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Wednesday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL. Burial will be in Derr Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
