Katherine 'Kate' B. Jones

Katherine ‘Kate’ Jones, age 93, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 06, 2020 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born on July 04, 1927 in St. Francisville, Illinois, the daughter of John W. and Nellie (Carrell) Bennett. She married Willard W. Jones on July 12, 1974, and he preceded her in death on January 05, 1997.

Kate was a proof reader for The Sumner Press, Lawrenceville Daily Record, and the Olney Daily Mail. She was a member of the Christian Church of Sumner. Kate enjoyed spending time with her family, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Willard; one brother, Paul H. Bennett; and three sisters, Ethel VanSeyoc, Rebecca Grove, and Martha Henry.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Polly Bennett of Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Private services for the family will be conducted.
