Joyce R. Hughes

Joyce R. Hughes age 83 of Lawrenceville, Illinois died Friday, January 25, 2008 afternoon at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville,Il.She was born November 08, 1924 in Kingsley, Ohio. Her parents were Lawrence and Gertrude Moir Peterson. She was married to Melvin Ray Hughes and he survives.Also surviving are five sons, Melvin B. Hughes, Barney R. Hughes both of Bridgeport,Il. Ronald D. Hughes of Michigan, Barry R. and Lester C Hughes both of rural Lawrenceville,Il. Two daughters also survive, Rebecca A. Purcell of Robinson, Il. and Debra S. Clettenberg of rural Bridgeport,Il.One sister Katherine Johnson of Falls City, Neb. Nine grandchildred and 13 greatgrandchildren also survive. She was preceeded in death by her parents and one sister.Joyce was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bridgeport,Il. Joyce was a loving Mother, Grandmother, her loved her Lord.The funeral will be Tuesday afternoon 1:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday 11:00 a.m. till the service hour of 1:00p.m. Burial will be in the Sumner City Cemetery following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
