Joseph V. Dunning

Joseph V. Dunning, age 96, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, December 05, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 14, 1927 in Russellville, Illinois, the son of Joseph S. and Edith Zetta (Clark) Dunning. He married Doris Seitzinger on August 03, 1947, and she preceded him in death on February 02, 2016.

Joe served his country in the United States Army, during World War II, and was able to go on the Honor Flight with his son, Chris. He worked for Miller’s TV in Lawrenceville, was head of housekeeping at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, worked in maintenance for Gemtron; and worked for Texaco, Maco Oil, Walmart in Lawrenceville, and part-time for ASCS. He enjoyed working, puttering around in his yard, and working with his flowers.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Craig Dunning of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Chris Dunning and wife, Kimberly of Evansville, Indiana; one daughter, Penny Jo Shue of Lawrenceville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Laci Shue, Kyle Dunning, Cory Dunning, and Gabrille Dunning; and two great-grandchildren, Cainen Dunning and Hunter Dunning.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Honor Flights of Southern Indiana. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
