Joseph Andrew Decker

Joseph Andrew Decker age 26 of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Lawrence Co., Illinois. He was born December 29, 1987 in Lawrenceville, IL the son of Ronald and Carrie Kent Decker. He married Lindsey Hovermale on June 11, 2011 and she survives. Joseph worked as a welder and waterjet operator at Halters Machine & Welding Shop. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed watching the UFC with his dad. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed children. Joseph was preceded in death by his grandmother Phyllis Decker, and grandfather Thomas Kent. Survivors include his parents Ron and Carrie and wife Lindsey, one brother Jacob Decker of Birds, IL. paternal grandfather Wallace Decker of rural Flat Rock, IL, maternal grandmother Mary Ann Kent of Birds, IL, father and mother in law: John and Ginny Hovermale of rural Lawrenceville, IL. brother-in-law: Josh and Jenn Hovermale of Chicago, IL, nieces and nephew: Aiden, Zoey & Jaylyn Decker, and their cat Tonks. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00am at the Central Christian Church in Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 8:00pm at the church. Burial will be at the Decker Family Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Lawrence County Humane Society.
